Vintage 18k Yellow Gold Diamond and Ruby ‘Qu’hier - Que Demain’ French Love Token by Alphonse Augis
An authentic and rather rare teeny tiny size Alphonse Augis charm, featuring the famous quote ‘+ Qu’hier - Que Demain’
The phrase comes from an 1889 poem by Rosemonde Gérard, wherein she wrote: “Car, vois-tu, chaque jour je t’aime davantage, Aujourd’hui plus qu’hier et bien moins que demain,” which translates to, “For you see, each day I love you more, today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.”
This sweet little charm features a beautiful floral border, and has a small diamond set within the plus sign and a lovely red ruby baguette set in place of the minus.
In excellent vintage condition: patina and minor surface wear as expected with age, but no obvious flaws or any other damage found.
Marked ‘Depose’ (copyright) on reverse; French Eagle Head punch mark for 18k gold + AAugis makers stamp on bail. Professionally tested on an XRF analyzer to further confirm the metal purity.
